Tatratea Citrus 32% – a liqueur with an intense lemon tea flavor.

Tatratea Citrus 32% is one of the lighter versions of this popular liqueur. With a low alcohol content of 32% and dominant citrus notes, it’s a drink that will appeal to almost everyone.

Tatratea liqueurs are made using alcohol distilled from molasses and premium Indian Assam tea. The liqueur matures for 8 months in steel vats, with the addition of oak chips and over 27 natural extracts from herbs, spices, and fruits.

The pleasant, distinct lemon tea flavor makes it perfect for cocktails. Tatratea Citrus can also be enjoyed neat – chilled or served over ice. Additionally, Tatratea liqueurs are distinguished by their aesthetic bottle featuring the letter "T" – for “Tatras” and “tea,” with a 3D-printed ornament inspired by highlander art.

How was Tatratea Citrus 32% created?

The name Tatratea first appeared on the market in 2008; previously, the liqueur was known as "Tatranský čaj." The final recipe for the base version, Tatratea Original 52%, was developed in 2003, but the tradition of crafting herbal-fruit liqueurs in the Slovakian Tatras dates back to the beginnings of Tatra tourism in the 19th century.

Each mountain shelter had its own secret recipe for liqueur, which was often added to tea for chilled tourists—hence the name "Tatra tea." Today, the brand is owned by the family-run Karloff Distillery.

Tatratea is bottled in decorative matte-colored glass bottles with highlander motifs, and the shape resembles a hiking thermos. Currently, Tatratea is produced in 14 flavor variations, ranging from 17% to 72% alcohol. It is made from molasses alcohol, Assam tea, and natural macerates.

Tatratea has won dozens of prestigious awards at competitions and trade fairs across Europe, Asia, and America, where it has been praised for both the excellent quality of the liqueur and the unique, eye-catching bottle design.
