The company's origins are linked to two brothers from Śląsk – August-Christoph and Gustaw Meukow, who initially supplied high-quality cognac to the Russian Tsar’s court. Recognizing the growing demand for this luxury spirit, the brothers decided in 1862 to start their own production in the Cognac region of France. Key to their success was the support of the mayor of Cognac, who believed in their vision and became a shareholder in the company.

Thanks to this, Meukow cognac quickly joined the elite group of the best cognac producers, gaining recognition not only in France but also in international markets. A turning point in the company’s history came in 1947, when the name Meukow was officially adopted as a trademark for their exceptional spirits. In the following decades, the brand steadily grew, and in 1979, the family Guyenne took over ownership, continuing to manage the company, preserving its traditions, and maintaining its independence.
