Havana Club Anejo 7 Anos is definitely one of the best players of the great Cuban team. Essential and complex, and at the same time gentle in taste, it is a model of the rich tradition of rum production in Cuba. Nobleness adds a completely natural, seven-year aging process in oak barrels.
Havana Club Anejo 7 Anos best to taste in shots or on ice cubes. It is almost a mandatory addition to the Cuban cigar, it can also be used in traditional drinks.
The Spanish colonizers discovered that the climate of Cuba was simply created for the cultivation of sugar cane, as a result of which, at the end of the seventeenth century, the production of rum moved on the Caribbean islands in full swing. It would seem that Cuba would take a prominent position in this expansion, but the Spanish lobby of the brand's producers, in fear of competition, forced the government to ban the production of distillates on the sunny island, which was in force until 1796. After the removal of the ban, Kuba remained far behind with production technology.
To improve the quality of Cuban rum and introduce it to the global market, the Spanish government organized a competition for producers in which two families distinguished: Baccardi and Arechabala. The latter has created the Havana Club brand. The rum flourished during the Prohibition in the US, and Havana became the entertainment center of the social elite of America. The fashionable bars were dominated by Cantineros - barmen at the time, promoting fashion for the first mixed rum-based drinks. In 1934, the Havana Club brand was registered and its products were exported in large quantities to the USA. In 1960, the revolution nationalized all the companies, and the Arechabala family had to emigrate from the country.
In the 1970s, the communist government recognized Havana Club as a flagship of the country and began large-scale exports to the USSR and the countries of Eastern Europe. Since 1994, Havana Club has been produced by a joint venture with 50% shareholder Pernod Ricard and Corporation Cuba Ron.
