Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin – An Exquisite Gin in a Sapphire Bottle
Bombay Sapphire Gin is a spirit that cannot be mistaken for any other. Its square sapphire-colored bottle and the label featuring an image of Queen Victoria are well-known even among those who are not gin enthusiasts. The gin is crafted based on a revived recipe from the late 18th century. It is made using a triple-distilled wheat spirit and a selection of natural ingredients, including angelica root, paradise pepper, cubeb pepper, orris root, cassia bark (a type of cinnamon), coriander, juniper berries, almonds, licorice, and lemon peel.
Bombay Sapphire gin combines these ingredients through a process known as "vapour infusion"—the herbs and spices are suspended in a special chamber, allowing their essences to permeate the vapor that condenses during distillation. This is the optimal way to extract their aromas, giving Bombay Sapphire its distinctive bouquet and refined taste. Launched in 1986, Bombay Sapphire is best enjoyed on the rocks, but it also shines in all classic gin-based cocktails.
