Bladnoch Alinta – a Scottish single malt with fire at its heart
Bladnoch Alinta Peat is a unique example of how distinctive peaty smokiness can be combined with the fruity sweetness of sherry casks and the softness of bourbon cask maturation. The name Alinta comes from the languages of Indigenous peoples of southeastern Australia and means “fire” or “flames” – a reference to the whisky’s distinctly smoky character.
Alinta was the first heavily peated whisky introduced to Bladnoch’s renewed range after the distillery was acquired by David Prior. Its character comes from a combination of peated spirit and maturation in Pedro Ximénez Sherry and bourbon casks. The result is a single malt in which smoke does not stand alone – it is accompanied by sweet fruit, raisins, almonds, vanilla and creamy accents.
Bladnoch Alinta Peat is a proposition for those who want to discover a less obvious side of the Scottish Lowlands – a combination of campfire smoke, peat, raisins, almonds, vanilla and sweet dessert notes captured in a single bottle.
