Umeshu Aka – A classic liqueur from the Land of the Rising Sun with a beautiful red hue.
Aka means red in Japanese. The intense, bright red color distinguishes Umeshu Aka from the basic Shiro (white) version. This beautiful color comes from shiso leaves, a plant genetically related to mint, known in Poland as perilla.
Shiso leaves are not just a natural coloring agent; they also contribute herbal notes. Umeshu Aka is made by macerating Japanese ume plums, shiso leaves, and rosemary in rice-based shochu distillate.
Umeshu Aka features a complex aroma of ripe fruits combined with subtle herbal notes. Served over ice, it makes an excellent, refreshing aperitif. The label, adorned with ume blossom motifs and calligraphic kanji characters, combined with the red color of the drink, creates a striking presentation – a perfect idea for an exotic and unique gift.
