Daisen Japanese Blended Whisky Wine Cask – a Japanese blended whisky inspired by the nature of the Tottori region and the majesty of Mount Daisen.
Matsui Whisky created Daisen Japanese Blended Whisky Wine Cask as a tribute to the nature of Tottori Prefecture and Mount Daisen – one of the most picturesque and symbolic peaks in Japan. This Japanese blended whisky is produced at the Kurayoshi distillery owned by Matsui Shuzou, a producer renowned for combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship with a subtle philosophy of flavor harmony.
The foundation of this spirit is a blend of malt and grain whiskies aged for more than three years in ex-bourbon American white oak casks, which impart vanilla sweetness, a creamy texture, and notes of caramel and delicate wood to the distillate. The blend is then finished in Japanese red wine casks from the Tottori region, where it spends several additional months developing a deeper and more fruit-forward character.
The producer also emphasizes that the whisky is non-chill filtered and retains its natural color, preserving the full spectrum of aromas and the authentic character of cask maturation. The Kurayoshi distillery, located in Tottori Prefecture, is known for crafting whiskies inspired by the local terroir and the tranquility of Japanese nature.
