Cardenal Mendoza Brandy is an exceptional Spanish brandy originating from the Jerez region – one of the most renowned areas of wine distillate production in the world. It combines centuries-old Andalusian craftsmanship with refined style and timeless elegance. It is made from carefully selected grapes which, after distillation, are aged in sherry casks, giving the spirit its distinctive depth and complexity.

The history of this category goes back hundreds of years, when the art of aging distillates using the solera system was developed in the Jerez region, creating a style appreciated worldwide for its harmony and sophistication. One of the key elements of Cardenal Mendoza’s identity is its origin – the brand comes from the historic Sánchez Romate Hermanos bodega, operating in Jerez de la Frontera since the 19th century.

Production is based on the traditional solera and criaderas system, as well as the use of carefully selected American oak casks, previously seasoned with Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry. Thanks to this, each batch maintains a consistent and recognizable character. The brandy is aged for many years, allowing its full aroma and depth of flavor to develop.

Mixology and cocktails using Cardenal Mendoza Brandy.

The rich and balanced character of this brandy makes it an interesting base for classic cocktails with a deep flavor profile. Its structure enhances the intensity and aromatic richness of drinks such as:

• Brandy Old Fashioned – add 50 ml of Cardenal Mendoza Brandy, a few drops of Angostura bitters, and a little sugar syrup to a glass with ice. Stir and garnish with an orange peel.
• Brandy Alexander – combine 40 ml of brandy, 20 ml of cocoa liqueur, and 20 ml of cream in a shaker. Shake with ice and serve in a cocktail glass.
• Sidecar – mix 40 ml of brandy, 20 ml of orange liqueur, and 20 ml of lemon juice in a shaker. Shake with ice and serve in a chilled glass.
• Brandy Sour – combine 50 ml of brandy, 25 ml of lemon juice, and 10 ml of sugar syrup in a shaker. Shake with ice and serve with a lemon slice.
