Czym jest whisky Single Malt ?
Zawsze kiedy o niej mówimy możemy być pewni, że zawartość butelki pochodzi z jednej, konkretnej destylarni i została wyprodukowana tylko i wyłącznie ze słodu jęczmiennego. Szkockie single malt muszą być produkowane, starzone i butelkowane w tym kraju. Aby nosić to szczytne miano, whisky powinna dojrzewać w dębowych beczkach minimum 3 lata. Gdy z butelki interesującej nas whisky odczytujemy jej wiek np. 15YO - oznacza to, że najmłodszy destylat użyty do skomponowania danej whisky, dojrzewał nie krócej niż 15 lat. Oczywiście w przypadku single malt destylaty pochodzą tylko z jednej destylarni. Warto zauważyć, że proces destylacji przebiega w miedzianych alembikach, które są istotnym elementem w budowaniu charakteru szlachetnego trunku.
